Brick effect wallpaper

Post by charliechops » Fri Feb 11, 2005 4:41 pm

Very popular in the seventies. To keep up with the Joneses you had to wallpaper your chimney breast with this stuff to give it that rustic feel. Just the chimney breast, nothing else. The other walls would be painted or papered with something fairly plain to make it stand out even more.
I see the Eastenders set people must have found a couple of rolls and used it to paper the outside walls of the betting shop and Pauline Fowler's house.

I had some of my school books backed in this stuff...
? I must have some booze. I demand to have some booze.
? This place has become impossible. Nothing to eat, freezing cold and now a madman on the prowl outside with eels.

Yeah! You just can't beat that brick effect for that Seventies feeling. I wanted it so bad I managed to track down and buy several rolls of brick effect wallpaper online from these guys. Now I'm living in Sweeney style paradise. Just need to fire up the Cortina and I'm away.

Never thought of covering my school books in the stuff back in the day. Maybe its a generational thing, but we all used transparent sticky back plastic.
